to read the following Code of Conduct.
In order to make everyone's experience in the game as enjoyable as possible, certain rules
must be put in place.
If you violate the rules listed in this Code of Conduct, your account could be suspended or
terminated with no refunds.

Definition of Inappropriate Behavior
- Harassment, abuse, threats, stalking, foul or offensive language, hate speech (including,
by way of example, but not limited to, ethnic slurs and religious epithets) as determined by
our staff. Use of sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene,
hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, or other offensive or inappropriate language, content,
character names, titles, descriptions, or in-game labels (including, by way of example, but not
limited to, offensive or inappropriate fellowship names, pet names and inscriptions) as determined
by our staff. Inappropriate language, content, names, titles, descriptions or labels can include
those that in any way look like, sound like, stand for, hint at, abbreviate, or insinuate any of
the following: profanity, sexual content (including, but not limited to, explicit language,
sexual innuendo, negative, disparaging, and harmful references to sexual preferences), slurs
(including but not limited to racial, ethnic, and religious slurs), illegal drugs/controlled
substances, and illegal activities.
- Excessive shouting (use of all caps), spamming or flooding our chat server (i.e. continuous
posting of repetitive text).
- Arguing with or neglecting to follow instructions of our staff.
Note that the avatar names of our staff contain special characters, such as the plus symbol (+).
- Impersonation of our staff/personnel.
- Misusing Help and abusing channels in the game, including, by way of example, but not limited to,
filing false reports, harassing, or repeated filings of the same report.
- Disruptive behavior, including, but not limited to, acts that degrade the Been There Game online
service performance or other players' client Software (for example, dropping excessive items or
summoning excessive portals).
- Hacking or deliberately using game bugs or loopholes to disrupt the game.
- Offering for sale or auction, or otherwise commercially exploiting, the Been There Game software,
account, characters, housing, items, currency or coin or any other copyrighted, trademarked or
patented material in Been There Game.
- Communicating any other player's real world information, or account login details, through
the use of the Been There Game or related web sites.
- Use of the Been There Game software and/or services for illegal activities.
We are not responsible for anything you say in-game or on our chat rooms or forums, or for any
consequences that arise from what you say.
If you break the law, you alone will be responsible for the consequences.
You cannot use our software or services to publish, post, distribute, or disseminate defamatory,
infringing, obscene, or other unlawful material, images, text, or information.
You may not use the Been There Game software or services for chats relating to illegal drugs or
any illegal purpose.
You may not use any chat, profile, or other Been There Game software or services for the purpose
of linking to external sites that violate this Code of Conduct.
- Posting Web links or URLs in the game that point to content deemed by our staff to be inappropriate,
including, without limitation, any Web links or URLs directed to other commercial products or services.
You may not post Web links or URLs to any materials (including software and other information) that
could harm (or is designed to harm) other users' computers or would allow others to inappropriately
access software or websites. We don't allow the posting of destructive software, use of computer
programs that contain destructive features, or access to any content such as viruses, worms, Trojan horses,
or bots for the use of scrolling, showing multiple screens, and other activities that can be disruptive
to online communication.
- Use of unauthorized third-party software or macros with our software may be prohibited in the sole
discretion of our staff. Specifically, you may not use third-party software which allows your character
to gain experience points or items by engaging in combat without being at the keyboard, ready to respond
to our staff on demand (this activity is commonly called a "Combat Macro"). Logging off as soon as an
admin appears (visible or invisible) or when an admin tries to speak with you will be taken into
consideration in determining the use of Combat Macros.
Remedies to Inappropriate Behavior
- A player who violates the Code of Conduct may be warned by our staff,
but some particularly serious violations or repeated violations can result in other sanctions,
such as a lockout or permanent ban, without warning.
In addition, we reserve the right to delete characters or entire accounts as we see fit,
without warning, for certain violations.
- We reserve the right to revoke this license or terminate the service account of anyone
who advocates or encourages expressions of violence, bigotry, racism, hatred, or profanity.
We don't tolerate racial, ethnic, sexual, or religious slurs.
- All chat in the game is logged and may be reviewed at any time to assist in making decisions
regarding violations of the Code of Conduct.
This includes, but is not limited to, private chat, fellowship chat and allegiance chat.
- Players who violate the Code of Conduct are subject to having their applicable character
name listed as a violator on our website at www.beentheregame.com.
NOTE: We have the final say over what constitutes a violation of this Code of Conduct.
We reserve the right to change the Code of Conduct at any time.
